Sharda University’s merit scholarship is the single most asked-about funding route for Bangladeshi students heading to Greater Noida — and the most misunderstood. This guide gives you the exact 2026 tiers, the official renewal conditions, and the real rupee-and-taka numbers after the discount, so you can compare it against any offer an agent puts in front of you. You can also run your own GPA through our free scholarship calculator first — no signup, no agency fee.
How the Sharda Scholarship Actually Works
Three rules decide everything:
- It applies to tuition fee only. Sharda’s official terms state the scholarship is granted on tuition; hostel, examination, registration and admission charges are excluded.
- It is merit-based, computed from your SSC and HSC results. The university prepares a school-wise merit list; the tier you receive depends on where your combined GPA lands.
- It is provisional until the Scholarship Committee approves it. Limited seats are offered first-come, first-served, and the award can be revoked if the semester fee is not paid within the deadline in your admission letter.
That last point matters: a percentage quoted in a WhatsApp message is a marketing number. The number that exists is the one printed in your offer letter.
Scholarship Tiers by GPA (2026)
| Combined GPA (SSC + HSC) | Scholarship on tuition | Eligible programmes |
|---|---|---|
| 3.5 – 5.0 | 50% | B.Tech CSE, BBA, MBA, BCA, MCA, B.Com, B.Design, LLB (Integrated), Allied Health Sciences |
| 3.0 – 3.4 | 20% | Same programmes as above |
| Any GPA | 30% | B.Tech Civil, B.Tech ECE, B.Tech Mechanical, B.Tech EEE |
| Any GPA | 25% | B.Sc Nursing (5% of seats, first-come first-served) |
| — | None | MBBS, BDS |
Read the pattern before you celebrate: the flat 30% sits on the lower-base-fee branches, and the headline 50% sits on the programmes with the highest listed tuition. A percentage on its own means nothing — the next section converts these into money.
If Your GPA Sits Near a Boundary
The tiers are published as GPA bands, but the placement decision comes from the university’s merit list built from your attested SSC and HSC marks — not from an automated rounding rule. If your combined GPA is close to a cut-off (3.49 against the 3.5 gate, for example), do two things before accepting any quote: ask admissions in writing which tier your file has been placed in, and compare that against what an agent tells you. The written answer is the only one that appears in your offer letter — and the only one you can budget on.
What the Scholarship Does NOT Cover
From Sharda’s official fee structure for 2026–27, these are billed on top of the discounted tuition (all figures approx.):
| Charge | Amount | When |
|---|---|---|
| Admission fee | INR 30,000 (≈ BDT 42,000) | One-time, non-refundable |
| Examination fee | INR 6,000 per semester | Every semester |
| Registration fee | INR 15,000 | Annual, from year 2 |
| Year-1 miscellaneous | INR 10,000 | Application, AIU, insurance, medical, FRRO |
| Hostel and mess | Billed separately | Request current rates with your offer letter |
A 50% scholarship on a high-base programme can still cost more per year than a 30% scholarship on a low-base one. Always compare the post-scholarship rupee amount, not the percentage — our full cost of studying in India from Bangladesh guide does that arithmetic for every programme.
Tuition After the Scholarship: The Real Numbers
Every figure below comes from Sharda’s published 2026–27 fee structure (all approx., converted at 1 INR ≈ 1.4 BDT):
| Programme | Listed tuition/year | Tier | You pay/year (INR) | You pay/year (BDT, approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| B.Tech CSE | INR 2,95,000 | 50% (GPA 3.5+) | INR 1,47,500 | ≈ BDT 2,06,500 |
| B.Tech CSE | INR 2,95,000 | 20% (GPA 3.0–3.4) | INR 2,36,000 | ≈ BDT 3,30,400 |
| B.Tech Civil/ECE/Mechanical/EEE | INR 1,40,000 | 30% (any GPA) | INR 98,000 | ≈ BDT 1,37,200 |
| MBA | INR 4,25,000 | 50% (GPA 3.5+) | INR 2,12,500 | ≈ BDT 2,97,500 |
| B.Design | INR 2,85,000 | 50% (GPA 3.5+) | INR 1,42,500 | ≈ BDT 1,99,500 |
| B.Sc Nursing | INR 2,60,000 | 25% (5% of seats) | INR 1,95,000 | ≈ BDT 2,73,000 |
| MBBS | INR 15,00,000 | None | INR 15,00,000 | ≈ BDT 21,00,000 |
| BDS | INR 8,00,000 | None | INR 8,00,000 | ≈ BDT 11,20,000 |
Two comparisons that change decisions:
- A GPA 3.2 student in B.Tech CSE pays INR 2,36,000 — while a GPA 3.2 student in B.Tech Civil pays INR 98,000 on a higher percentage. The branch you choose can matter more than the tier you win.
- MBBS and BDS carry no scholarship at all at Sharda. If medicine is your goal, an agent “securing a discount” on MBBS is inventing something the university does not offer — see the MBBS abroad guide for the rules that actually apply.
If your GPA sits below 3.0, the 50% tier is closed at Sharda — but it is worth checking the other six partner universities, where scholarship structures and base fees differ, and running your profile through the free scholarship calculator.
Keeping It: The Official Renewal Rules
Sharda’s published continuation policy for 2026–27 is strict, and it is the part agents skip:
- Minimum 8.00 CGPA and 75% attendance at the end of the year, with no failed or deferred papers — otherwise the scholarship is not continued.
- The award is divided equally across the two semesters and applies to tuition only.
- One scholarship per student — if two schemes apply, only the higher one counts.
- Same board for 10th and 12th is required for merit eligibility, and no gap between academic sessions.
- For the 2026–27 session, only students who cleared their qualifying exam in 2024 or 2025 are eligible.
- B.Sc Nursing awards sit on 5% of seats, first-come first-served.
- Requests after 31 October of the admission year are not considered, and an award is revoked if the semester fee is not paid within the deadline in your admission letter (or 30 days, whichever is earlier).
- The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to modify or cancel any provisional award.
In plain language: the offer letter is year one’s promise; year two depends on your transcript. Budget for the full listed fee in later years, and treat renewal as a bonus you earn.
Admission Requirements (Scholarship or Not)
The base admission bar is the same for everyone:
- HSC or equivalent with a minimum GPA 2.5
- Attested SSC and HSC mark sheets
- Passport copy valid 6+ months
- Six passport-size photographs
- Medical fitness certificate
- Six-month bank statement
- Police clearance certificate

If you are still comparing destinations at all, start with the complete study in India from Bangladesh guide — India is usually the lowest-risk entry point, and our cheapest-country ranking shows why.
Worked Example: B.Tech CSE at 50%, Year 1
A GPA 3.6 student admitted to B.Tech CSE for the 2026–27 session:
| Item | INR (approx.) |
|---|---|
| Tuition after 50% scholarship | 1,47,500 |
| Admission fee (one-time) | 30,000 |
| Examination fee (2 semesters) | 12,000 |
| Year-1 miscellaneous (application, AIU, insurance, medical, FRRO) | 10,000 |
| University-side total, year 1 | ≈ INR 1,99,500 (≈ BDT 2,79,300) |
Hostel and mess are billed separately — request the current hostel fee structure with your offer letter, and add roughly BDT 3–4 lakh per year for realistic living in a Greater Noida hostel. Compare this whole picture against self-funded alternatives in the cost of studying in India from Bangladesh breakdown before you commit.
Before You Pay Anything
- Get the percentage in writing. Your offer letter must state your exact tier. A percentage that exists only in a chat message does not exist.
- Check the official pages. Sharda publishes its merit scholarship policy and programme fees — if an offer contradicts them, believe the university.
- Pay the university directly, through a traceable channel, with a receipt in the university’s name. Never into a personal account.
- Ignore guarantees. No consultant can promise a tier the Scholarship Committee approves. Run every offer against the agent-scam checklist first.
